Alan Baumgartner passed away in the early morning hours of July 22, 2023, at St. Francis hospital in Wichita, KS after a brief but critical medical emergency. Alan was born February 4, 1960, to Dallice and Alice (Koerner) Baumgartner in Newton, KS.
Alan was a lifelong resident of Newton, KS. After graduating from Newton High School in 1978 he worked various jobs before settling into a longer based career at Cargill. After leaving Cargill, he worked for himself doing various fabrication projects. Alan in recent years retired.
He enjoyed helping to take care of the multitude of dogs that his kids adopted in lieu of having children of their own. He was an avid follower of drag racing. His hidden softer side was also a great lover of music.
Alan is preceded in death by both parents. Survivors include daughter Amber Baumgartner and partner Kendal Swenson of Lindsborg, son Matthew Baumgartner of Newton, brother David Baumgartner of Newton, niece Misty Lopez and husband Kyle Lopez of Scott City, and mother of his children Donna Stoddard of Newton.
