Albert R. Higgins, 76, of Newton, died Friday (May 26, 2017) at the Windsor Estates in Salina, Kansas.
He was born on August 5, 1940 in Newton, Ks., the son of Albert and Clara Mae Curtiss Higgins. Albert was raised and attended schools in Newton. He went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad when he was 18 years old where he worked for over 18 years.
Albert had lived in Newton until moving the Salina within the past year.
Survivors include his two sisters Catherine McCurdy of Newton and Sharon Gawith of Tescott, Ks.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Dolores Wadley, Phyllis Griffith, and Ellen Disney.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday (June 2, 2017) at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
There will be no visitation as cremation has been effected.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
