Alberta M. Behymer, 80, died March 3, 2008 at Asbury Park, Newton.
She was born December 21, 1927 at Wichita, KS to Paul and Violet Marie (Fawl) Sagerty. They precede her in death. She attended schools in Wichita, KS graduating from Wichita North High School in 1945. She was employed as a stockwoman at the George Innes Department Store. She then worked for the Hartford Insurance Company as a clerk and typist at the Wichita Union Stockyards. It was there she met Bruce L. Behymer. They were married February 24, 1961 at the Sedgwick Christian Church Parsonage, Sedgwick, KS. He preceded her in death June 14, 2004. After marriage she became a homemaker, raising her family and working as a “farmer’s wife”. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening…canning her own produce. She enjoyed dancing very much.
Survivors include sons, Gary Vinson of Topeka, KS, Bruce B. Behymer of Sedgwick, KS, daughters, Gwendolyn Vinson of Overland Park, KS, Tina Knight of Carbondale, Il, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation is 9:00A.M.-8:00P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2008 with family greeting friends from 6:00P.M. till 8:00P.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 7, 2007 at the First Christian Church, Sedgwick, KS with the Reverend Kim Beckwith officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be made for the Asbury Park-Greenhouse1202.
