Ann M. Moulds

Ann M. Moulds, 89, of Halstead, died Tuesday (July 19, 2011) at the Halstead Health & Rehab Center.

She was born on June 30, 1922 in Newton, Ks., the daughter of Arthur L. and Augusta Catherine Kaiser Phillips. She graduated from Newton High School in 1940. Ann married Thomas Clayton Moulds on April 25, 1942 in Newton.

Ann and Tom moved to California in 1959. She was a receptionist for many years at the Ferrara & Moulds Colonial Mortuary in Orange, Calif., until retiring in June 1980. They returned to Kansas in the Summer of 1992.

Ann had been a member of the Presbyterian Church in Halstead. Down through the years, Ann had also been a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Loving Savior Lutheran Church in Chino Hills, Calif., and the Orange North Rotary Club in Orange, Calif., where she had been honored as a “Paul Harris Fellow.”

Survivors include her brother-in-law Dean Moulds of Wichita; sister-in-laws Kathryn Lamia of Kanopolis, Ks., Sadie Moulds of Murphysboro, Ill., and Barbara Moulds of Monte Vista, Colo..; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom on August 21, 2009; and sister-in-law Florence Bumm.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday (July 25, 2011) at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home 1pm til 6pm on Sunday, where the family will receive friends between 2 and 4.

A memorial has been established with Halstead United Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #5, Halstead Historical Society, or Hospice Care of Kansas, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
