Arthur (Art) Lee Kyburz died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. He was born September 23, 1930 the son of John and Bertha (Steineger) Kyburz in Fairbury, Illinois. In 1949 he graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, Indiana.
Art married Mary Kerr in Coatesville, PA in 1976. In the 1980’s, Art was given the opportunity to start a potato chip business. Together Art & Mary moved to Kansas and started “ART’S Tater Chips” in Wichita, later moving the business to Walton, KS. Mary passed away in 1999. He enjoyed Kansas, and living in Walton, and Clay Center where he attended the Clay Center Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by 2 sons: Ken Kyburz, Walton, KS, Bill Kyburz, Vienna, VA, 2 daughters: Reba Giacalone, Earlville, PA, and Ruth Ann Groff of Pottstown, PA. 2 sisters Ann Stokes, Decatur, IL, and Elvene Kelly, San Diego, CA. 3 grand children and 1 great grand child.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary. 2 brothers, John and Walter; 3 sisters Eunice, Lurine, and Mildera.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday April 24, 2008 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Paschall of Clay Center presiding.
There will be no burial at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
