Bea Fiene

Elizabeth “Bea” Fiene, 92, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas.

Bea was born on November 15, 1919 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Joseph Calvin and Elizabeth May Miller Wood. Bea and her family lived on a ranch in Lookout, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Freedom, Oklahoma.

She and her husband, Irvin John Fiene married on December 22, 1957 in Wichita. They moved to Newton in September, 1958 and later opened the J&B Market on High Street in Newton which they operated for yearly 14 years.

After closing the store, Bea sold Avon for over 30 years. She was an active member of East Side United Methodist Church and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

Surviving is her husband, John of Newton; daughter Shari Miller and granddaughter Kyana Miller of San Diego, and granddaughters Andria Christiansen, Elizabeth Hadden and Tamara Antoine and great-grandson Joshua Phillip Hadden all of Newton.

Bea is proceded in death by her loved son, Phillip Irvin Fiene, her parents and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 1:00pm at East Side United Methodist Church in Newton. Interment will be in the Restlawn Garden of Memorials with and a reception back at the church.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 9am til 8pm.

A memorial has been made to East Side United Methodist Church, contributions may be sent to Broadway Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
