Becky Magee

Becky Ann Magee, 64, died Friday (June 9, 2017) at her home.

She was born on November 2, 1952 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Glenn D. and Wilma Baker Thomas Magee. As a child, she and her family moved to Newton where she was raised and attended school.

Becky graduated from Newton High School in 1970. She later graduated from Hutchinson Jr. College and attended W.S.U. becoming a dental hygienist. She married Don Potter in 1973 and they were married for 13 years.

She was very creative and artistic, as well as a people person. She loved spending time with her family. Becky had been involved with the Celebrate Recovery group at Riverpoint Church in Newton.

Survivors include her son James Aaron Potter of Whitewater, Ks.; daughters Geneva Ellen Ford and husband Nick of Augusta, and Rachel Mae Young and husband Ryan of Whitewater; two sisters Glenda Miller of Newton and Colleen Charbonneau of Boyton Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren Matthew Wesley Young, Jack Aidan Ford, Addison Mae Ford and Hudson Walker Ford.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents and brother Ed Thomas.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday (June 15, 2017) at the First Baptist Church in Newton.

There will be no visitation or viewing as cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorial has been established with Celebrate Recovery, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
