Belen Estrada,83, died on February 17, 2009 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, Kansas.
She was born on January 4, 1926, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Marie (Garcia) and Magdaleno Jaso.
On April 22, 1944, she married Joaquin S. Estrada at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2001.
Belen was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton, Kansas.
She worked various jobs, throughout her lifetime, but was most known for her co-ownership with Joaquin in Chuck’s Familia Restaurant.
The most enjoyment came for Belen, while spending quality time with her family. She was loved greatly and will be missed by many.
Survivors include 3 sons, Stan and wife Theresa, Newton, Albert of Newton, Patrick and wife Linda, Grand Prairie, TX; 4 daughters, Mona Sandoval and husband Robert, Newton, Magdeline DeWitt and husband Greg, Pineville, MO, Denise Estrada, Mission, KS, Bunny Sanchez and husband Manny, Newton; 3 sisters, Raymunda Florez, Newton, Lucy Gomez, Overland Park, Kansas and Katherine Ornelas, Newton; 20 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, son, Felix Estrada and a daughter Paula Estrada.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 20th , 2009 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. with the family greeting from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Reciatation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, February 20th at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton, Kansas.
The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February, 21st at 11:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Juan Garza will be presiding.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.
