Beverly M. Grochowsky, 93, died Wednesday (April 21, 2021) at the Greenhouse of Asbury/Paramount Community in Newton.
Born August 23, 1927 to Carroll F. Holmberg and Estella M. Schmitt Holmberg in Strong City, KS.
She graduated from Strong City Rural High School in 1945 and married William J. (Bill) Grochowsky November 20, 1951 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Strong City. After which they lived in Newton. He died January 17, 1993.
She was a member of St. Mary Church; an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survived by Ken Grochowsky of Matfield Green; Gary and Myrna Grochowsky of Newton; Sister Janice Grochowsky, CSJ of Dodge City; two grandchildren Eric Grochowsky and Amy Grochowsky; and, sister Shirley Oldham of Cottonwood Falls.
Brother Jack Holmberg and sister Connie Roberts, along with her parents, preceded her in death.
Vigil and Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Sunday (April 25, 2021 and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Monday (April 26th) both at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the church on Sunday evening between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Paramount Community Living (formerly Asbury Park Retirement Community). Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
