BILLE KAY McFARLANE, 64, of Newton, died Tuesday (June 23, 2009) at the Newton Medical Center in Newton, Ks.
Billie was born on July 21, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Irene Patricia Bruner Hamm. She was raised and attended schools in the Lehigh, Kansas area.
She married Jerry Schmidt, as he served in the U.S. Army, they lived in several places
including a time period in Germany. She had lived in the Hillsboro area for many years until moving to Newton in 1985. She later married Randy McFarlane on June 30, 1989 in Newton, Kansas.
For several years Billie had been a Nurses Aide at several area nursing homes. She loved
animals and collecting angels.
Survivors include her husband Randy of the home in Newton; one son Jeff Schmidt of Andover, Ks.; one daughter Kathy Schmidt of Newton; two grandsons Christopher Schmidt and Alexander Schmidt both of Newton; two step-grandsons Heath and Seth Meyers of Andover.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gerald Dean Hamm.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday (June 26, 2009) at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
There will be no visitation as cremation has been effected.
