Billie Lee Wright, 89, died February 16, 2011 at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas.
He was born on July 15, 1921, in Walton, Kansas to Harvey Lee and Elsie Mae (Worthington) Wright.
Billie graduated from Marion High School and then enlisted in the Army Air Force on November 11, 1942, during WWII. He was honorably discharged in October 1945.
He married Dorothy Edna (Powell) on September 10, 1943 in Riverside, California. She died on June 11, 2005.
Billie worked as a salesman for Montgomery Ward, and was also a technical illustrationist for amusement parks.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his spouse, a daughter, Judith Wright, and a brothers Harold Wright and Donald Wright.
Survivors include a son, David and his wife Candee, Newton; sisters, Virginia Pientka, Hesston and Alice Wagner, Newton; brother, John Wright, Hesston ; 2 grandchildren, Aimee and Molly Wright.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 1:00 to 8:00 P.m., with the family greeting from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011, 4:30 P.M. at the Walton Cemetery, Walton, Kansas.
