Bruce Carl Jacobson

Bruce Carl Jacobson, 90, died on April 30, 2009 at the Newton Medical Center in Newton, Kansas.

He was born on September 16, 1918 in rural Harvey County, Kansas the son of Leda M. (Crawford) Jacobson and Carl M. Jacobson.

He married Marguerite Bauman on September 19, 1943 in Sedgwick, Kansas. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1998.

Bruce was a member of the First Christian Church, Sedgwick.
He also was a lifetime farmer in the Sedgwick community. His favorite pastime was rebuilding and restoring his International tractors.

He was survived by 2 sons, Alan N. Jacobson, Newton and Gordon B. and wife Nancy Jacobson, Sedgwick; daughter, Carolyn M. and husband Jacob Wilson of El Dorado, Kansas; 6 grandchildren ; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Sedgwick, Kansas. Pastor Kim Beckwith will be presiding.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.

Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick following the funeral.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Sedgwick or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
