Bryan James Malin, 44, Newton, passed away after a lengthy illness on April 7, 2014, at Via Christi Hospital - St. Francis campus.
 
He was born on December 14, 1969 in Wichita, the beloved son of Ralph and Carole Malin of Newton. He was a 1989 graduate of Newton High School, where he was a letterman in band. After graduation, he joined the Navy and was a member of the Sea-Bees. He served his country proudly and was deployed in Iraq during Desert Storm. He married his beloved wife on October 24, 2009. 
 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alan and Helen Lee of Wichita and Horace and Elnora Malin of Liberal. 
 
He is survived by his wife, June of the home; his parents of Newton; his brother and sister-in-law, Brent Malin and Jessie Beckett-McWalter of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and his many nieces and nephews. He also is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
 
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton. Inurnment will follow at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening between 6:30 and 8:30.
 
Memorials may be designated to the National Kidney Foundation and the Wounded Warriors Project and will be appreciate by the family.
