Carol J. Troxell, 66, of Newton, died Tuesday (Sept. 1, 2009) at the Newton Medical Center.
She was born on April 23, 1943 in Petersburg, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Hazel Guinan Vogt. She graduated from high school in Petersburg and moved to Newton in
1968.
She married Richard L. Troxell on October 26, 1973 in Miami, Oklahoma. They continued to live in Newton where Carol had worked at Norcraft for over 23 years.
Carol had been a member of The Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards, going camping and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters Angela Voth and her husband Terry of Newton, Christine Trimmell and her husband Darryl of Newton; two step-daughters Bobby Jo Thomas and Annette Johnson both of Naples, Florida; one brother Tommy Vogt of Lena, Illinois; one sister Barbara Clemens of Greenview, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; and three
great grandchildren.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard on June 22, 2003; one step-son Terry Justice; one brother Lawrence Vogt; and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009 at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with Chaplain Denny Bell officiating. Private family inurnment will be
held later.
Friends may call at the funeral home and visit with the family, Saturday 9am til 2pm.
