Charles D. Foust, 80, passed away on June 30, 2009 in Houston, Tx.

Charles was born on October 2, 1928 in Topeka, Ks., the son of William K. and Harriet C. Foust.

When his country called, Charles answered by joining the U.S. Army in 1950, where he served in the Korean Conflict and was awarded three Bronze Campaign Stars before his honorable discharge in 1956. Also during this time, Charles attended Kansas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduation, Charles was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company at various locations and retired in Houston in 1985 after 30 years of service in the field of accounting.

Charles has a passion for travel, gardening, music, reading and golf. Most of all he loved to visit with family and friends.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Dorothy (Androes) Foust of the home; son Paul Foust and his wife Cathy of League City, Tx.; daughters Barbara Foust Powell and her husband David, and Marcia Foust Fox and her husband David all of Austin, Tx.; brother George Foust of Topeka, Ks.; grandchildren Dane, Catherine, and Caroline Powell, Brian and Kevin Foust; and numerous friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday (July 6, 2009) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 9am til service time.
