Cheryl Lord

Cheryl Juanita Lord, 71, died Monday (July 18, 2022) at Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

She was born on December 29, 1950 in Bossier City, Louisiana, the daughter of Lynn Doyle and Mary Lee Boykin Sullivan. Cheryl was raised in the Shreveport and Monroe, Louisiana areas.

While living in Wichita she met Kenneth B. Lord, they were married on December 11, 1991 in Wichita. Cheryl and Kenneth lived in Newton, he died on March 28, 2006. She moved to Wichita in 2010.

Survivors include her son Kenneth Abel; daughter Sabrina Wassall and husband Jay all of Wichita; step-sons Robert and Richard Lord; siblings Johnny Ray Ortiz of Wichita and Mary Lawrence of Tyler, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; siblings Jerry Lynn Sullivan, Joyce Ann Ott, Raymond Ortiz, and Geneva Lopez Gonzalez.

Graveside and inurnment services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday (July 30^th) at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

There will no visitation as cremation has taken place.

Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, Ks.
