Clark Preston Gilbert, 70 of Newton, Kansas passed away peacefully Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Salem Home, Hillsboro Kansas.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton Kansas. Celebration of his life to follow at The Gilbert home.
Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, Kindred Hospice of McPherson, Kansas and Salem Home of Hillsboro, Kansas. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
Clark was born January 20, 1947 in Kingman, Kansas to Kenneth and Winifred (Jones) Gilbert. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1965 and attended Dodge City Community College. On April 4, 1970, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Durham in Mullinville.
Clark was employed by Full Vision Inc. in Newton. He enjoyed working and continued to work up until his passing. He was a jack of all trades. If there was something mechanical or electrical to be worked on, he was your go to guy. He was an avid San Diego Chargers fan, Loved NASCAR, fishing, billiards, KU basketball, and K State football. But spending time with his family and granddaughters was what he enjoyed the most.
Clark is survived by his wife Beckie of 46 years of the home; his daughter Brittney Shay Helm and her husband Chane of Newton; four granddaughters, Savannah Justis Pryor, Aspen Shay Pryor, Joscelyn Lee Helm and Daytona Faith Doty-Helm all of Newton; sister Patricia Graber of San Diego, California; and brother Wayne Gilbert of Davis, California; half sisters, Patricia Dickson, Ft. Worth, TX and Carole McGhehey, Rosenauer, Oregan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Winifred and his precious doggie Keely Snow.
