Colletta L. Sangals, 75, of Newton, died Sunday (Feb. 21, 2010) at the Newton Medical Center in Newton, Ks.

Colletta was born on November 5, 1934 in Newton, Ks., the daughter of Leland and Ruth Weaver Kenagy. She was a lifelong resident of Newton. When she was four years old, Colletta was crowned “Little Miss Newton”. She graduated from Newton High School in 1952 and later attended Bethel College.

Colletta married Carl G. Sangals on December 6, 1953 at Salem United Methodist Church in Newton. She did Medical Transcriptions for Bethel Clinic for many years. She was a member of Newton Bible Church, an avid bridge player, and had been an Honorary Queen of Job’s Daughters. In November, Carl and Colletta moved to a new home on the Kansas Christian Home Campus.

Survivors include her husband Carl of the home in Newton; son Craig Sangals and his wife Kristin of El Dorado, Ks.; daughter Cindy Sietz and husband Brad of Overland Park, Ks.; brother Gary Kenagy of Topeka, Ks.; sister Norma Fischer of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and grandchildren Kyle Sietz, Katherine Sietz, Zachary Sangals and Caden Sangals.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday (Feb. 25, 2010) at the Newton Bible Church. Interment will be in the Mound Township Cemetery, near Moundridge, Ks.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 1pm til 8pm where the family will receive friends between 5 and 7.

A memorial has been established with Newton Bible Church and Caring Hands Humane Society, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
