Daniel Boone Brooks, 25, Newton, KS, passed away on October 20, 2008 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

Daniel was born July 8, 1983 in Wichita, KS the son of Larry V. and Shirley J. (Spinden) Brooks
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he attended the youth group from middle school thru high school.
He was a 2002 graduate of Newton High School where he played football his freshman and sophomore years and he enjoyed his woodworking class. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Daniel spent many hours fishing in the backyard lake. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Daniel is survived my his son Hayden Val Brooks of El Dorado, KS; parents Larry and Shirley Brooks of Newton; sister Sasha Kosminski and her husband Andre of Newton, KS; niece Kalie Lynn Kosminski of Newton; maternal grandmother Edith Spinden, Burns, KS and paternal grandmother Louise Brooks, Oxford, KS; fiancé, Madison Holinde, Newton, KS; and numerous cousins.

Daniel was preceded in death by is maternal grandfather, Fred Spinden and paternal grandfather Val Gene Brooks.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October, 23, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Newton, Kansas. Rev. Nathan Morgan and Rev. Steve Hysom will be presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery in rural Burns, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to Donate Life ~ Midwest Transplant, in care of the funeral home.
