David Brian Richardson, 59, died Friday (July 24, 2020) at the Ascension Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
David was born on September 5, 1960 at Ft. Belvoir Army Base in Fairfax, Virginia, the son of Donald Luther and Barbara Ann Kisler Richardson. With his father being in the military, they were stationed in several places before settling in Houston, Texas. David graduated from Bell Aire High School in Houston in 1979, shortly after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
After being discharged David returned to Houston and became a boiler tech at Rhone Plonc along the ship channel in Houston. While working there he married Laura Martin in 1987 in Wichita. They continued to live in Houston until moving to Wichita in 1993.
After moving to Wichita, he went to work for what is now Frontier Refinery in El Dorado, Kansas until retiring in 2016. David enjoyed spending time with his friends at Harry’s Bar & Grill in Wichita.
Survivors include his daughter Clare Zabokrtsky and husband Justin; granddaughter Olivia Manganiello all of Tecumseh, Kansas; brother Brad Richardson of Houston, Texas; sister Linda Morgan of Austin, Texas; and Laura Richardson of Topeka, Kansas whom he remained good friends with.
David is preceded in death by his parents and sister Lacey Richardson.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
