Diane Kay Vernon, age 73 of Newton, Kansas died July 18, 2018 with family by her side.
Diane was born October 28, 1944 in Concordia, Kansas to H. Kenneth and Irma (Angle) Schwartz. She married Kenneth Rae Vernon on August 19, 1944.
In her lifetime, Diane was a waitress, med-aid, secretary and also worked as a machinist at AGCO.
She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, making refrigerator magnets for family and friends, making cards, crocheting, and doing other crafts. She also loved photography and roller skating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Irma Schwartz; her husband, Kenneth Vernon; her son, Mark Vernon; and her sister, Elaine Ruth Merrill.
Survivors include her two daughters, Connie Sue Wick of New Holstein, Wisconsin and Christy Million of Newton, Kansas along with eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services and inurnment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday (July 25, 2018) at the Glasco Cemetery in Glasco, Kansas.
A memorial has been established with the Glasco Christian Church of Glasco, Kansas. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
