Dorothy L. Hite, 84, of Newton, joined the angels in Heaven on Saturday (February 6, 2016) at the Newton Presbyterian Manor.
She was born on May 17, 1931 in Whitewater, Mo., the daughter of Carl R. and Ruby E. Bowling West.
She married Wilbur Hite on April 12, 1948 in Pocohantas, Arkansas. They later moved to Newton. He died in 1981.
Dorothy had worked at the Hesston Corp., and Anderson Liquor Store. She had also been a volunteer at the Salvation Army. She enjoyed working in her garden.
Survivors include her daughter Vicky Zinn of Goessel, Ks.; three grandchildren Chris Zinn of Newton, Julie Zinn of Wichita, Harlan Hite of California; four great grandchildren Katelyn,
Rylie, Mason, and Erin; brothers Jim West and wife Opal of Farmington, Mo., and Howard West and wife Angie of Farmington, Mo.; and sister Pauline Little of Jefferson City, Mo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilbur; son Michael Hite, Sr.; grandson Michael Hite, Jr.; son-in-law Steve Zinn; and sister Pat Moore.
Memorial graveside services and inurnment will be in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory near Newton at 1:00 P.M., Thursday (February 11, 2016).
There will be no visitation or viewing as cremation has been effected.
