Dorsey Leverne Baker, 59, of Lindsay, died Monday (Jan. 21, 2013) at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Tx.
Dorsey was born in Newton, Ks., on May 25, 1953, the son of Dorsey Dewitt and Lavera (Asendorf) Baker. He attended schools in Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1971. Dorsey married Charlette Nancy Taggart on July 7, 1977.
He had worked for Peterbuilt as an assembly specialist for 12 years and for Borden Chemical for 15 years as an Assistant Manager. Dorsey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who enjoyed hunting arrowheads, fishing, restoring antique furniture and watching Western movies. He was also an avid football fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include wife Charlette Baker of Lindsay; sons Cory Baker and Zeb Baker; daughter Kelly Baker Turbeville and husband Joe; grandchildren Tyler, Hunter and Walker Turbeville and Emma Jo Baker all of Gainsville, Tx.; and sister Marilyn Gordon and husband Jeff of Newton.
Private interment was held Friday (Jan. 25, 2013) at the Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton.
Arrangements were by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
