Enrique Torres Arreola, 74, of Newton, died Sunday (Feb. 10, 2013) at the Harry Hynes Hospice of Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born on October 16, 1938 in Santo Tomas, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Gabriel Torres and Ines Arreola. Enrique married Ramona Avitia in 1960 in Nicolas, Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico. They had lived in Newton for several years.
Survivors include his wife Ramona of the home in Newton; sons Javier Torres, Joel Torres, Noe Torres all of Newton, Carlos Torres of Wichita, Elier Torres and Gerardo Torres both of Newton; daughters Socorro Lujan of Valley Center and Ines Bencomo of Newton; brothers Pascual Torres of Winslow, Arizona, Gabriel Torres of Mexico, Ruperto Torres of Imperial, Nebraska and Roberto Torres of Demming, N. M.; sisters Carolina Torres and Ofelia Torres both of Mexico; 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Enrique is preceded in death by his parents; sons Elvis, Uriel and Jose Louis Torres; and sister Yolanda Torres.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2013) at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday (Feb. 13, 2013) at the church.
Friends may call at the church all day Tuesday where the family will greet friends.
