Evangelina Valdivia, 65, of Newton, died Monday (June 29, 2015) at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born on October 7, 1949 in Yurecuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. Evangelina married Manuel Valdivia, Sr., on August 15, 1967 in Yurecuara. They moved to Newton in 1995 and she had worked at Norcraft for 16 years.
Survivors include her husband, Manuel of the home; sons Manuel Valdivia, Jr. of Guadalajara, Mexico, Marco A. Valdivia and Jose A. Valdivia of Newton; daughters Patricia Hernandez and Adriana Valdivia of Newton, and Rosauru Chavez of Guadalajara, Mexico; her father Jose Navarro of Newton; brothers Salvador Navarro, Luis Navarro, Gonzalo Navarro, and Francisco Navarro all of Newton; sisters Consuelo Oceguera, Gaudalupe Castillo, Josefina Campos, Teresa Meza and Mana Blena all of Newton; 17 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Evanelina is preceded in death by her mother, Maria del Carmen.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday (July 1, 2015) with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M., Thursday (July 2, 2015) both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
Friends may call at the church after 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday.
