Hanns Conle White, 80, of Newton, died Thursday (November 27, 2014) at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born on January 31, 1934 in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Hannibal and Connie Leola Anderson White. The family moved to Newton in the early 1940’s. Hanns graduated from Newton High School, attended Bethel College and later graduated from Emporia State University with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Arts and Counseling.
After graduating from college, Hanns began his teaching career in Strong City, Ks. He later would move to Tacoma, Washington where he taught for over 30 years until retiring. Hanns returned to Newton fifteen years ago.
Hanns had been a member of the Elks Lodge in Tacoma. He loved animals and could be seen regularly driving around Newton with his boxer, Lou. Hanns has a passion for education, he always enjoyed working on cars and spending time at the casino.
Survivors include his brother Earl White of Valley Center, Ks.; sister Dona’ Wells-Alexander of Newton; a nephew and several nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.
Memorial services will be held at a later date, as cremation has been effected.
