Hazel F. Miser

Hazel Francis (Zink) Miser, 91, died on April 1, 2013, at Asbury Park, Newton, Kansas.
She was born on November 12, 1921 in Baker, Montana. Her parents were Roscoe C. Zink and Fanny (Bush) Zink.
Hazel lived in South Dakota the majority of her life. She met Jack Miser and they were married in 1941 and together they built their home in Rapid City. While Jack was deployed in the army, they moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1953, Hazel and Jack and their daughter Valerie, moved to Marne, Michigan. Hazel went to work for General Motors sewing the interiors. She retired after 27 ½ years.
Hobbies of Hazels’ were, gardening, mostly flowers, reading, crocheting & singing in the church choir. She taught Sunday School for many years.
In 2003, they relocated to Newton, Kansas. Jack and Hazel were members of the First Nazarene Church of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rev. Dale Zink, Mildred Zink Wead, Lola Zink and Raymond Zink; grandchild, Brandon Dale Sump; her parents and spouse.
Survivors include Valerie (Dale) Sump, Newton; sister, Beatrice Zink Nelson; grandchildren, Jacki (Don) Quiring, Trish (Jason) Esslinger, Stephanie aka Stephen Sump; 7 great grandchildren, Olivia, Amelia and Alexandria Quiring, Jason Jr. and Austin Esslinger, Stephen Jr. and James Sump.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Family greeting from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the First Nazarene Church at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Charles West will be presiding.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the First Nazarene Church or Good Shepard Hospice in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114
