Herbert “Jean” Stack, died January 23, 2010 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, Kansas.
He was born on May 14, 1951 in Bridgeport, TX to Norma D. (Wood) and Herbert Stack.
Herbert was raised and attended school in the Decatur, Texas. He married Rosalie Archuletta in Amarillo, Texas on April 1, 1976.
He was an avid antique collector and worked in the Newton area in the construction area. Herbert also volunteered time at the VA Center in Wichita and the Caring Hands Humane Society in Newton, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife Rosalie, 3 sons, Johnny, Joseph and James Garcia, Newton; brother, Boyd “Butch” Young, El Dorado, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Angela, Christina, Jessica, Steven, Mia and Nathaniel and 4 great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Samuel , Katie and Ethan.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Columbus Avenue Church of Christ, at 2:00 P.M.
A book signing will be available at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the Caring Hands Humane Society or the Columbus Avenue Church of Christ in care of the funeral home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
