Jacqueline Kay McFarlane Wedel, 47, died Sunday (October 14, 2018) at her home in Newton.
She was born on May 13, 1971 in Newton, the daughter of Jim and Nancy Ann Hogan McFarlane. Jacque was raised in Newton, while in school she was involved in several sports, graduating in 1989. She later attended Wichita State University.
Jacque lived in California for a short time, returning to Newton where she married Travis Wedel in 1995.
She had worked at Koch Industries in Wichita and Newton Medical Center. Jacque spent several years in the medical field, she also enjoyed working at Sand Creek Golf Course. She loved to dance and being a line judge at volleyball tournaments.
Survivors include her twin daughters whom she loved being mom to, Riley and Jade Wedel both of Newton; her mother Nancy McFarlane of Newton; brothers Randall James McFarlane and his wife Tina of Newton, Robert Michael McFarlane and wife Nancy of Altoona, Ia., Ronald Lee McFarlane and wife Kathy of Wichita; sisters Jamie Marie Wild of Lompoc, Calif., and Stacy Diane Arellano and husband Jim of Newton; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Jacque is preceded in death by her father; brother Richard Scott McFarlane; two infant sisters; nephew Brian Scott Arellano; brother-in-law Jonathan Wild; and sister-in-law Billie Kay McFarlane.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday (October 18, 2018) at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton. Private family inurnment will be held later at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale, Ks.
The casket will be open at the funeral home Wednesday between 1:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A memorial fund has been established to her daughter’s Riley and Jade. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
