James R. Johnson

James Robert Johnson, 46, of Valley Center, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday (May 30, 2012) at the Memorial Herrman Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Jim was born on February 9, 1966 at the Bethel Hospital in Newton, Kansas, the son of James K. and Frances Dolores Graham Johnson. He attended schools in Newton and was graduated from Buhler High School in 1986. Jim later graduated from Amteck Electronic Training School in Wichita in 1995.

Jim worked at Hehr International in Newton, the Warehouse Market in Hutchinson and later Wal Mart in Wichita.

Jim enjoyed playing electronic games, working on stereo speakers and spending time with his family, especially family vacations. His favorite thing was spending time with his German Shephard dog. He loved the 60’s and 70’s style of cars and owned eight cars, including a 74 Plymouth Gold Duster and a 75 Chevy Impala, multi colored red white and blue.

Survivors include his father James K. Johnson of Newton; his mother Frances “Dee” Johnson and brother Scott Alan Johnson of the home in Valley Center; three uncles, two aunts; and nine cousins.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday (June 5, 2012) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 9am til 5pm.

A memorial has been established with the Humane Society’s in Newton and Wichita, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
