Janice Louise (Veazey, Swink) Ross, 84, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 at Paramount Nursing Home in Newton, Kansas. Janice was born on April 17, 1939 in Newton, Kansas and was the oldest of three children.
She graduated from East High School in Wichita, Kansas, in 1957 where she was an exceptional cello player.
In 1958, Janice married and moved to California where she had two children, Meret Swink Jennings of Wichita, Kansas and Geoffrey Swink of Poway, California. After 30 years of working for Pac Bell, she retired and moved back to Kansas, bringing her daughter and granddaughter, Kristena Washburn, with her.
Janice was a loving dotting mother to her son, daughter and three grandchildren. She also dotted on her animals. She loved Neil Diamond, chocolate, reading, watching Law and Order, traveling and KU basketball.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents A.J. (Jim) and Lou Jane Miller Veazey. She is survived by her daughter, son, three grandchildren, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Janice will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Restlawn Gardens of Memory, W Hwy 50, Newton, Kansas.
