Jeannie Angela Schmidt, 44, died Friday (November 16, 2018) at the Newton Medical Center.
She was born on May 20, 1974 in Goessel, Ks., the daughter of Larry Dean and Renate “Renee” Maria Schnindelar Schmidt. Jeannie was raised in Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1992.
While in high school Jeannie went to work at Lupe’s Mexican Restaurant where she worked for 10 years. She then went to work at Norcraft Mid-Continent Cabinetry where she worked for over 18 years.
Jeannie had a big heart, she loved spending time with her family and collecting dolphin and elephant items.
She was both a mom and dad to her son Dustin Todd who lives at the home, Jeannie is also survived by her mother Renee of the home; brother Danny Schmidt; grandfather Willard Schmidt; nephew Ian Schmidt; and great niece Nova Schmidt all of Newton. Along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins here in the U.S. and in Germany,
Jeannie is preceded in death by her father, Larry; grandmother Velma Schmidt; and grandparents Adolph and Anna Schindelar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday (November 21, 2018) at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends between 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
