Jeannine Smith

July 3, 1943 — January 13, 2022

On January 13, 2022, Jeannine Kay Smith entered the Heavenly gates of our Lord's home to walk through the gardens and golden paths with our Lord and loved ones we lost before her.

She was born on July 3, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas. She was a loving, caring mother, wife, and homemaker most of her life. She was also a faithful Kansas City Chiefs fan. 

Jeannine was united in marriage to Leo W. Smith in April of 1983. 

She is survived by her husand Leo of Wichita; three sons and two daughters Sheri Kelley and husband Gary, Steven Hicks and wife Amy, Stephanie Cortes and husband Andy all of Texas, Chuck Allen and wife Christina of Mississippi, and Ron Scoggan and wife Cara of Kansas. Four step-children include Tim Smith and wife Kelly of Texas, Tamela Smith of North Carolina, Tommy Smith, Teresa Coover and husband Paul of Kansas; along with one brother Garold Brooks of Kansas. 

Jeannine also enjoyed numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents James E. and Leta Agnus Lope Brooks; five sisters Maxine Vaughn, Lavonna Fisher, Johanna Cruse, Imogene Farrar, Jaquelyn Brooks; three brothers James Brooks, Ronald Brooks, Gaylord Brooks; and three grandchildren Misty Martin, Bridgette Smith, and Jessie Ugelstad. 

Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday (January 24th) at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita, Ks.

The casket will be open at the funeral home on Monday between 10:00 A.M. and Noon.

Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, Ks.
