Irvin John Fiene, 98, passed away on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at Paramount “Asbury Park” Community Living Center in Newton, Kansas.
John was born on April 1, 1923 in Bluff City, Kansas to Anna M. Stork and Frederick G. Fiene.
John married Elizabeth ‘Bea’ Fiene on December 22, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Newton in 1958 and later opened the J&B Market on High Street which they operated for 14 years. After selling the market John worked for several years for the State of Kansas as an egg inspector.
Survivors include daughter Shari (Christopher) Miller of San Diego, California; granddaughters Andria Antoine of Palm Springs, California, Elizabeth (Nick) Hadden of Newton, Kyana Miller of New York City, Tamara (Vincent) Bizzell of Wichita; great grandson Joshua Phillip Hadden and great granddaughter Harper Hadden; along with many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his wife Bea; son Phillip Irvin Fiene; his parents and sisters Helen Clevenger, Marion Klapp, Betty Ray and Kathryn Smith.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday (May 19, 2021) at Restlawn Gardens of Memory Cemetery outside of Newton.
The casket will be open at the funeral home on Tuesday between 1:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.
Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home of Newton.
