John Joseph Ryan

Ryan, John Joseph, 70, of Lakeview, Ar., formerly of Newton and Sedgwick, KS. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, died on January 30, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley of the home, his children Bradley (Cherie) Ryan , Christa (Doug) Schwabe , and Darren Ryan. His granddaughter Sarah Ryan and great granddaughter Alexis Grace. Grandsons, Jacob Ryan, Ryan Schwabe and Joshua Schwabe of Newton, KS. His sister Yvonne (Herb) Coin of Wichita, KS.
He was preceeded in death by his parents L.B. (Red) and Orlena Ryan. His brother Max F. Ryan and nephew Timothy A. Ryan.
He was known to many as Prairie Dog, Indian Guide, the Great White Hunter, and Red Rhino.
John retired from Cox Machine Inc., Wichita after 42 years.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 3, at 10:00 A.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, KS.
Visitation 1pm-8pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 with the family greeting time from 6pm - 8pm.
Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery at 1:30 pm in Chapman, KS following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, Newton, KS.
