Jonathan Paul Hochstetler, 42, died Tuesday (June 8, 2021) at his home.
He was born on November 17, 1978 in Elkhart, Indiana, the son of Walter Edwin and Frances Kay Zerger Hochstetler. In 1996, Jon graduated from high school in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, shortly after which he moved to the Wichita area.
While working at the Pizza Hut in Park City, Kansas, he met Lisa Diane Hiebert. They were married on October 14, 2000 in Wichita. They have lived in the Valley Center/Kechi area.
Jon graduated from Wichita State University with an Electrical Engineering Degree. For nearly the past 20 years he has been an Engineer at Integra Technologies in Wichita.
Jon was a great supporter of whatever activities he kids wanted to be in and loved spending time with his family. He was an avid runner and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. The last several years Jon and been an active supporter of the Head For The Cure 5K Walk and Run. He and the family were members of Faith Mennonite Church in Newton.
Survivors include his wife Lisa; son Elliott; and daughter Bri all of the Valley Center home; his mother and step-father Frances and Rolf Moss of Farmington, Pa; brothers Tim Hochstetler and wife Fran of Georgia, Sam Hochstetler and wife Daisy of England, Isaac Hochstetler and wife Rachel of Derby, Ks.; sisters Rhoda Valenzuela and husband Alex of Spring Hill, Ks., and Rachel Durgin and husband Nathan of Albany, N.Y.
Jon is preceded in death by his father; and an infant son Nathanael Aaron Hochstetler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday (June 11, 2021) at the Faith Mennonite Church in Newton. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
The casket will be open at the funeral home on Thursday between 1:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends between 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and Head For The Cure. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
