Kathy was born on December 6, 1972 to Billy K. McFarland and Jerry W. Schmidt in Hedelburg, Germany.
She attended Newton Bible Church in Newton. Kathys’ hobbies included graphic arts and designs. She enjoyed being with people and made friends easily wherever she may be.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Billy.
Survivors include, father, Jerry and wife Tootsie, Hillsboro; 2 sons, Christopher James Schmidt, Wichita and Alex Wayne Schmidt, Newton; brother, Jeffrey Lee (Lori) Schmidt, Augusta; 2 step-brothers, Chris Frantz ( Terri Pierce), Hillsboro and Mitchell (Jessica) Frantz and their children Logan and Jaidyn, Hillsboro; companion, Mike Kunkel and his children, Tanisha and Tiffany, Newton, KS.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E Broadway, and Newton, Kansas.
A book signing will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21th, with the family greeting guests from 7-8 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice, in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, Kansas.
