Kathryn G. “Katie” Kaufman, 98, of Newton, died Tuesday (May 26, 2009) at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
Katie was born on December 18, 1910 in Newton, the daughter of H.J. and Emma Goerz Kaufman. She was a life long resident of Newton. Katie’s grandfather, David Goerz, was one of the three founders of Bethel College.
For many years Katie had lived with Ervin and Irene Draper. She had been a resident at the Kansas Christian Home for the last eight years.
Katie had one brother Wilbert Kaufman.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday (May 29, 2009) at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 9am til 5pm.
