Keith D Ellis, 75, passed away July 16, 2008 in Newton.
He was born to Alfred C. and Effa (Behm) Ellis, March 20, 1933 in Newton.
On September 18, 1960 he married Carol E. Fraser in Newton. She survives.
He graduated from Newton High School in 1952.
Keith was very active and involved in The Boy Scouts of America over 60 plus years. He joined the Boy Scouts of America in 1945. He was a past Boy Scout Leader, and also a Star Scout. He participated in meetings, camp outs and many numerous scouting area events. Scouting was an integral part of his life.
Other survivors include brothers; Marion and wife Ruth Ellis of Hutchinson, and Wayne and wife Faye Ellis of Wichita, sister Hazel Ashens of Hutchinson, nephews and nieces; Pat Klosterhoff, Dennis Ellis, Larry Ashens, Doug Ashens, Brad Ashens, Carol Russell, Linda Ellis, Sheri Fraser, and Rusty Fraser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark M. Ellis, and brother-in-law Frank Ashens.
Visitation will be held at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. till 8:00 P.M., Monday, July 21, 2008 with the family present from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
Services will be held at Newton Salem United Methodist Church, Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sherry Clemons presiding.
Burial will take place afterwards at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
Memorial donations may be made to Quivira Council-Boy Scouts of America, and or the memorial of your choice, in care of the funeral home.
