L. Elizabeth Vogt

November 30, 1919 — February 9, 2009

L. Elizabeth Vogt , of Newton , died Friday (Feb. 6, 2009) at Asbury Park in Newton , Ks.



Private family graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M.,Monday (Feb. 9, 2009) at

Restlawn Garden of Memory.



Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday (Feb. 9, 2009) at the First

Mennonite Church in Newton with Pastor Clarence Rempel officiating.



A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and Asbury Park , contributions may be sent in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton , Ks. 67114.



Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 1pm til 9pm, the family will receive friends

Sunday between 4 and 6pm



Elizabeth was born on November 30, 1919 in Meno , Okla. , the daughter of Ben A.

and Lea Johnson Koehn . She was raised in the Meno area, moving to Newton in 1940.

She married Jacob Frank Vogt on Oct. 3, 1942 in North Newton , Ks. They

continued to live in Newton .



Elizabeth had worked as an assembler at Hehr International for 22 years. She had been

a member of First Mennonite Church for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed bowling for

many years, she baked pepper nuts and sold them during the Christmas season. She

always loved being around her family members.



Survivors include her two daughters Sharon Nickel and her husband Allan of Newton,

and Linda Ganoung and her husband Kevin of Gypsum, KS.; four brothers Paul Koehn

Walter Koehn , Wilber Koehn , and Larry Koehn all of Newton ; three sisters Leona Unruh

of Enid , Okla. , Alda Reimer of Phoenix , Ariz. , and Elvera McClure of Hutchinson , Ks.;

nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.



She is preceded in death by her parents; husband on Dec. 17, 1999; two sons Richard and Steven Vogt ; brothers and sisters Elmer Koehn , Lenora Buller , Melinda Buller , Alvin

Koehn, Alice Simmons , and Luella Bollig .
