LaVonda F. Claassen died on April 17, 2008 at her home in Newton, Kansas. She was born on July 12, 1937 the daughter of Agnes (Regier) and Virgil Buller in Enid, Oklahoma.
On August 22, 1958 she married Dr. Milton Claassen in Mingo, Kansas. She worked as a nurse and a housewife during her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her father, Virgil Buller.
She is survived by her spouse, her mother, Agnes Buller, Inman; 4 sons and daughter-in-laws, Dale and Ann Claassen, Elmira, OR, Kendall and Carol Claassen, Whitewater, Craig and Laura Claassen, Cedar Park, TX and Bruce and Amy Claassen, Hesston; 3 sisters and brothers-in-laws, Gloria and Ralph Goossen, Friend, NE, Sharon and Al DeBoer, Pagosa Springs, CO, Anita and Gary Pryor, San Diego, CA; sister-in-law Virginia Claassen, North Newton; 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
Memorial Service will be on Monday, April 21, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at the Faith Mennonite Church, Newton, with Pastor Gordon Smith presiding.
There will be no burial at this time.
Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice, Newton Safe House or the Mennonite Central Committee School Kits, in care of the funeral home.
