Chenita LouAnn Sparks Braught 65, of Newton, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 16th, 2020 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas.
Graveside services will be Friday, May 22th, at 3:00 PM at the Hesston Cemetery in Hesston, Kansas.
LouAnn was born August 31st, 1954 in Hutchinson Kansas, the daughter of Irvin and Ruby Catlin Sparks. She went to Buhler High School and graduated Moundridge High School.
LouAnn married Roy Braught April 1st, 1977 in Miami Oklahoma.
LouAnn worked as a housekeeper for many years at nursing homes such as; Schowalter Villa in Hesston, Wheat State Manor in Whitewater and Grouse Valley Manor in Dexter.
LouAnn loved her family, she enjoyed spending time with them and going on family outings. She was happiest with her dogs. She enjoyed her hobbies such as planting, gardening, cross stitching, and painting. She also loved watching the O.U. Sooners play football. Everyone who met her loved her laugh, her laugh was infectious. She was such a dear friend with a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Donald Slayden; and her husband Roy Braught.
Survivors include her daughter, Melony Harmon and husband Kenneth of Winfield, Ks.; sisters Donna Detweiler of North Newton, Ronda Sparks Kirschner of Michigan, Sherrie Sparks Priddy and Terrie Bates both of Royal, Arkansas; four grandchildren Nikia, Jade, Logan and Kyle Harmon; and two great grandchildren William Oxford and Easton Carter all of Winfield.
