Lynette Portlock Kasper

Lynette Ann Portlock Kasper, 61, died Saturday (June 19, 2021) at Ascension Via Christi Medical Center- St. Teresa Campus in Wichita.

She was born on February 1, 1960 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Marion Glen and Verna Schroeder Portlock. Lynette graduated from Newton High School in 1979 and later attended Wichita State University.

She married Mark Kasper on June 3, 2005, they lived in Newton. He died on April 14, 2021.

Lynette had worked at the K-Mart Store in Newton several years until it closed. She then went to work at the Dollar General Store in Newton and later managed a Family Dollar Store in Wichita until her health became an issue.

She loved all animals, but her true love was her son Zachary.

Survivors include her son Zachary of Newton; brothers Darrell (Terrie) Portlock and Dwight (Alaina) Portlock of Newton, and David (Debbie) Portlock of Halstead; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Lynette is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial graveside and inurnment services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday (June 24, 2021) at the Walton Cemetery in Walton, Kansas.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
