Lynn Marie Farnan

Lynn Marie Farnan, 40, died Friday (Aug. 27, 2010) at her home in Newton.

She was born on October 14, 1969 in Wichita, Ks. Lynn was a lifelong resident of Newton where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Santa Fe Middle School, and graduated from Newton High School in 1988. Lynn later received her Master’s Degree from Emporia State College in Rehabilitative Psychology.

Lynn had worked as a Case Manager at Prairie View in Newton for 12 years, the last few years she had worked in Wichita at Convergys Health Services in the Medicare Insurance Division

Lynn loved to spend time with her children. She also enjoyed the outdoors, water sports, listening to music especially 80’s rock. She had participated in 4-H, softball, cooking, baking, and loved animals. Lynn truly enjoyed being around her family, co-workers and friends.

Survivors include her son Broc Shafer who was born March 24, 1999; twin daughters Stella Rose and Lana Marie Kreger who were born on May 22, 2004; her parents Lewis Paul and Lorraine Therese (Gronau) Farnan of Newton; brother
Tony Farnan and his wife Tracie and daughter Abia of Newton; her grandfather William “Bill” Gronau of Newton; a nephew Trevor Farnan of Orlando, Fla.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lynn is preceded in death by grandparents Clara Gronau, Paul and Bertha Farnan.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M., Tuesday (Aug. 31, 2010). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday (Sept. 1, 2010) both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 1pm til 5pm.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at Midland National Bank, for her children’s educational fund, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
