M. Kathryn Rose, 98, died on September 4, 2010, at her residence in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on August 12, 1912, the daughter of Musa (Lemley) and Homer S. Goudy in Chetopa, Kansas.
Kathryn graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Pittsburgh State.
For over 34 years Kathryn worked as a lineotype operator for the Kansas City Star newspaper.
She married Delwyn H. Rose, at Oswego, Kansas on March 30, 1939.
Kathryn is survived by her son Thomas D. Rose of Phoenix, AZ, and daughter, Judy Searl and husband Leonard, 2 sisters, Georgie Williams, West Covenia, CA and Margurite Davis, Olathe, KS.;7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her spouse.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, 2010 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 10th, at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Pastor Steve Friesen will be presiding.
Burial will be held at 2:45 P.M. at the Oakwood Cemetery, Chetopa, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home
