Marcia E. Brazil, 67, died Sunday (September 30, 2018) in Newton, Ks.
She was born on May 15, 1951 in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the daughter of H.E. and Katherine Greene Campbell. As a child, the family moved to Chanute, Ks. where she graduated from high school in 1969. She later received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Neosho County Jr. College.
Marcia married Steven P. Brazil on December 3, 1977 in Chanute. For several years she was the administrative assistance to the Principal of Chanute High School.
The Brazil’s moved to Newton in 1991 where she became Director of the Newton Salvation Army. She held that position until five years ago. Through the years Marcia was involved with the United Way.
The Brazil’s moved to Wichita in 2004 where they lived until moving to Halstead in May of this year.
She is survived by her husband Steven of the home in Halstead; son Corey Brazil and his wife Amy of Wichita; daughter Jessica Brazil of Wichita; brother Michael Campbell and wife Michele of Arlington, Va.; and two grandchildren Jude and Ada Brazil of Wichita.
Marcia is preceded in death by her parent and son Benjamin Brazil.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday (October 6, 2018) at the Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton. Inurnment will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
