Margaret E. "Peggy" Martin

Margaret Elaine “Peggy” Martin died on Thursday, November 27, 2008.
She was born Nancy Hogan in Wichita on November 7, 1933 and adopted by Dr. Melvin C. Martin and Luberta Craig Martin on December 11, 1934. She was a lifelong resident of Newton. Many will remember her as the lady who tirelessly collected cans throughout the city. She was a client of Northview Development and most recently Rescare where she developed many friendships with clients and staff.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a step brother, Robert Martin. She is survived by her twin sister, Elizabeth Anne Kohls, two nieces, Jane Hansen and LuAnne Kohls, and three step nieces Patricia Culver, Susan Reeves, and Jamie Martin. She is also survived by her guardian of 12 years, Julie Mitchell.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow on December 1, 2008 at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.broadwaycolonialfh.com.
