Margaret E. Schroeder, 92., died at her home on January 2, 2011 in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on October 13, 1918, to Gilbert F. and Nancy (Rubey) Woodworth in Guthrie, OK.
After high school she attended Bethel College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics/Science in 1940.
Margaret married Allison Schroeder on May 22, 1941 in Halstead, KS. He died in 1995.
She taught in Little Rock, Arkansas, while Allison was stationed there, and also taught for a brief time in Walton, KS.
Margaret retired in 1981, from Dr. Earl Sheets dental office. She was his receptionist for nearly 20 years.
Her church membership was with the United Church of Christ, Newton, KS.
She was also an active correspondent with a group of college friends in a Round Robin Group. Margaret enjoyed traveling, on golf trips with her husband, and also enjoyed her TV time. She was an active member of several bridge groups, for many years.
Survivors include a son, Tom and wife Nancy of Wichita, and a daughter, Nancy and husband Russell Park, Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Ryan and wife Amy, Kansas City, MO and grandson, Weston Schroeder, Littleton, CO; great grandson Mick Schroeder, Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Edwin (Susie) Buller, Halstead.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her spouse, Allison an brother, Gilbert Woodworth Jr. and sisters, Mary Buller and Nancy Wilson.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, January 7th, 2:00 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas. Pastor Jerry Scribner will be presiding.
