Marguerite C. Snapp

Marguerite C. Snapp, 88, died January 6, 2011 at the Newton Medical Center.
She was born on Febuary 17, 1922 in Paxico, Kansas, where she graduated from high school. She then graduated from the former Strickler’s Business College in Topeka, Kansas and worked for the Kansas State Extension Service in Manhattan for eleven years.

She married Harvey J. Snapp on August 28, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2007. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton, and was a member of the Altar Society, the Social Justice Commission, the Stewardship Committee and on the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

She enjoyed traveling her husband as a member the 42nd Rainbow Division Auxiliary. Marguerite worked as the office manager for the Snapp Law Firm office for over 20 years.

She is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Oscar, Edgar, Ralph and Charles Glotzbach.

Her survivors include 5 children, son, Donald Snapp, Newton,; daughter, Mary Snapp and husband Spencer, Seattle, WA; son, David Snapp and wife Deborah, Dodge City; son, Randall Snapp and wife Beth, Tulsa, OK and daughter, Joanne Ruggiero and husband, Mike of North Newton; sister, Mildred Marak, Bartlesville, OK and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9th at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 10th, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton. Reverend James Mainzer will be presiding.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Newton.

Memorial’s may be made to the St. Mary’s Carrying On The Faith Building fund or the Newton Medical Center Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home at 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS, 67114
