Marilyn K. Roux, 63, of Newton, died Tuesday (March 9, 2010) at her home in Newton.
She was born on June 26, 1946 in Newton, Ks., the daughter of Ralph and Lydia Kater Roux. She graduated from Newton High School in 1964. She was crowned “Lassie Queen” of the Kansas Shorthorn Association.
Marilyn left Newton as a young woman and lived through out the Midwest, she returned to the Newton area in 2003 and had worked as a cook in the kitchen at Prairie View.
Survivors include her father, Ralph Roux of the home; one brother Norman Roux and his wife Barbara of Moundridge, Ks.; niece Joyce Anderson and her husband Dave of McCook, Neb.; nephew Dwayne Roux and his wife Rhonda of Newton; and great nieces Chelsea Schenherr and Kacy Anderson.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her mother.
Friends may call sign the book at the funeral home Saturday 9am til 2pm and Sunday (March 14, 2010) 1pm til 5pm where the family will receive friends between 2 and 4.
There will be no services.
